The soft glow of gas lit lamps catches your eye as you turn into London’s Finsbury Square as the faint sound of Christmas Carols carries through the air.
As you and your guests approach, you see through the fog a secret doorway beckoning you to step inside. You are welcomed by cheerful singers and as you shake off glistening snowflakes and remove your hat and coat, you will take in the nostalgic sights and sounds of Christmas. Exquisite aroma’s of cinnamon, chestnuts and pine draw you in from the bustling street party.
Your first stop may be the gin palace with sparkling mirrors and delicious cocktails served by smiling face. Your office Christmas party guests will indulge in passing packed platters of hot and cold Canapés. A cast of dancing performers take to the central bar to entertain excited party goers and passing musicians compete for your attention, as you explore the tawdry streets lit by flickering gas lamps.
As you break away from the excitement and buzz of the bar, curious guests will investigate a crowd gathered to one side. As you draw closer, laughter and cheering erupts to the site of a street performer twisting with a burst of colour, astonishing your guests. Sooner after, you will be summoned to your seats, before the shoe shine boy works his magic and pickpockets and street artists weave through the crowds of unsuspecting revellers.
Next enter the champagne banqueting hall dripping in Victorian luxury; a visual feast that escapes the office Christmas party norms. Giant sparkling chandeliers droop from a starlit ceiling, soaring high above beautifully adorned dining tables, where the feast is served. Succulent meats, steaming vegetables, delicious warm breads and inspired desserts capture the essences of this decadent era.
With food, drink and banter flowing, entertainers rush to the dance floor to raise the energy. As dinner concludes, the whacky Champagne Charlie pays tables a visit and introduces guests to his world of Curio Circus. Acrobats fill the floor and start to invite guests up to their feet, as the DJ raises the tempo and cannons of gold explode high above the dance floor. And wait….. just when you thought that was it, the absinthe fairy glitters emerald greens and bestows a secret surprise to cheerful guests.
